FOUR FUNCTIONS OF WISDOM

HAPPY IS THE MAN WHO FINDS WISDOM, AND THE MAN WHO GAINS UNDERSTANDING – PROVERBS 3:13
One way of understanding wisdom is by its functions. To a large extent, wisdom is a conduit or bridge from one state to another.
Whether as a map, a gap, a tap or a cap, wisdom is what connects two things that may otherwise have no way of coming together. Let’s explore the four functions:
Wisdom is the MAP. It is the navigating instrument that guides you from where you are to your next destination.
As you move through life, the wisdom you have will determine where you turn and how you deal with dilemmas that confront you.
Wisdom is the GAP between your problems and your solutions, Wisdom helps deal with your problems, including how to live a holy life, how to maintain your relationships or respond to financial challenges.
When you are confronted by a problem and are clueless about what to do, check out your wisdom. Don’t blame your problem. Get wisdom.
Wisdom is the TAP through which your power or energies flow, You may have a large reservoir of talents, resources or potential but if your wisdom, which is the pipeline for channeling it, is narrow or choked with filth, it will limit the flow of your abilities.
You can be gifted or anointed and yet contaminate your end product with poor choices like sexual misconduct, fraud or bad friendships. Clean your tap.
Wisdom is the CAP or the upper limit to your performance. You cannot perform beyond your wisdom level. When you find yourself going round the same problem in cycles, check out your wisdom.
I have learnt by observation that each of us needs to renew ourselves and expand our capacity every three years or run the risk of plateauing or going stale. Are you renewing or reinventing yourself?
HELP ME, LORD, TO GROW MY WISDOM IN ALL FOUR DIMENSIONS.
