Vice President of Ghana Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has teased former President John Dramani Mahama over his lack of faith in Ghana’s Supreme Court.
John Dramani Mahama is on record to have said that he nor the NDC have plans to go back to the Supreme Court in subsequent elections so it’s imperative that elections will be won at the polling stations in 2024.
“We have learnt our lessons from happenings during the 2020 polls,” Mr Mahama said on Techiman-based Akina Radio on Tuesday, September 7.
“The 2024 elections will be won or lost at the polling station. It will be do-or-die at the polling stations. The right thing must be done during the polls. We will win the elections at the polling station and won’t wait for collation centre results nor petition the Supreme Court if aggrieved,” he added.
But reacting to this, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia noted that John Dramani Mahama sent a bad case to the Supreme Court hence his failure.
He added the former President cannot send an electoral case to the court when he does not have a collated pink sheet and therefore it’s imperative that he does his homework well in the future.
“finally let me congratulate the award winners for tonight. I wish those who could not make it better luck in 2022. When you go for these competitions and awards it’s not a do or die matter. So we wish you better luck in 2022…Seriously, if you go to court to challenge an election and you have no pink sheet your case will die.”
