Retired Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has revealed legendary Portuguese gaffer Jose Mourinho nearly signed him for Real Madrid in 2011.
The 39-year-old, who is now a player scout for Danish side FC Nordsjælland, reveals the ex-Chelsea boss texted when he was on his way to a bank to do a transaction.
Speaking to Dan Kwaku Yeboah, the former Liberty Professionals midfielder revealed Mourinho had been a big fan of his and he only couldn’t get to Madrid because of a loss of form.
